The long plate has a very specific purpose, to fit perfectly between two plates on our extra small kitchen butcher block table so that we can have 3 plates on the table at once. It makes it possible to serve bread with dinner, desserts with flair and also to not have to get up and got to the stove for a second helping of whatever veggie deluxe is on the menu that night. To date this is my favorite piece because it is simple, clean and obviously handmade.
The shortbread cookies were left over from an event catered by Local Epicurean. I love the use of dried flowers, feels right for a summer treat.
