When We are at our Best.

The Avenue for the Arts  is at it’s best when emerging makers successfully show alongside, and grow relationships, with established artists. This month’s First Friday event was an example of just how spine tingly good events can be.

Completely run by the Learning Lab interns, the event was super smooth. There were over 50 artists vending on the street with 14 participating sites and galleries, but the real show stopper was on the stage. TJ a 16 year old WMCAT student performing under the name A Rose in December played original and cover songs to a full parking lot of family and supporters.  Tj’s original pieces were the highlight of the night.

Super huge thanks to Tabitha, Abby, Amanda, Maddie and Ben for being such an awesome Learning Lab crew and making it all possible. Want to see them in action? Check out this super amazing First Friday PSA,

Here are some pictures i snagged during the event. For a full look at the night, check out the Avenue for the Arts Flickr page.
