I love learning. I jump at the opportunity to expand my knowledge of things that I can apply at work or in the studio and jump at opportunities to visit new places. Conferences incorporate opportunities for me to see learn, see art and visit a new place, the best of all worlds.
This fall I served on anNeighborWorksARTS Ad Hoc Advisory Team for NeighborWorks America about had a chance to attend a NeighborWorks National Training Institute in Washington DC. While at the conference I attended a one day discussion about the arts and community development and a three day training course. I am working towards a certification in Community Building and Engagement.
After class I booked it over to the National Portrait Gallery, Hershorn and Smithsonian Art Museum, each day a new museum.
I’m lucky to get to sometimes travel with co-workers who also love to explore. This season Rebecca and I flew in a day early to see the African American history museum, which was an amazing experience.
