Recently I’ve had the opportunity at work to expand working with resident leaders. Starting in July I have been working with a group of resident leaders from the Weston Apartments and this fall we took a trip to the Community Leadership Institute, which was in Los Angeles this year. My role working with residents is helping to manage the engagement process (planning trainings/lending guidance when needed) and mobilizing their vision by lending technical support (notes/building connections). I’m working with this […]
Sometimes you need to mail a lot of stuff. Like ALOT. earlier this month we did an 800 piece mailing with 5 different things inside, including a pre addressed, stamped return envelope, it took more than 6 people working more than 8 hours to complete. and don’t get me started on the time it took to PRINT it all…… Modern problems amiright? I was excited to be asked to participate as a juror for the 2016 MEGA exhibition at the Urban Institute for Contemporary Art. The show features final semester student work from around the state. There were two other jurors and we selected 8 artists to participate in the exhibition. I was surprised how many applicants were working in black and white and the show reflected that theme. Here are a few shots of the final exhibition.

The rad cabinets came out of a […]
The Avenue for the Arts Annual Break it Down. Make it Better. this season was pretty rad. A full day of conversations the event took place in the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts. A partnership with ArtPrize and the UICA, my role is to help to facilitate the creation of the event. While this event was in its third year all of the staff with exception to myself, are new to the project. I work alongside staff from both organizations and […]
7 Pattern on Object Concept: Hand painting patterns is like going to happy place for me. I can’t exactly describe what patterns are appealing to me but I am highly selective about patterns I wear or put in my house. These patterns are all variations inspired by found patterns, modified, sketched, and applied to beads and objects. I make the Pattern sheets to document the patterns before I sell the beads and objects. Form: More little cups and vessels! I […]
